Aletta Christine Phillips, or Letty as she was known by all, born June 20th, 1949 in Nyack, NY, passed away February 8, 2022 in Statesville, NC to cancer.
She put down roots and made dear friends through music and church all over the country including Buffalo, NY; Silver Spring, MD; Portland, OR; and Hatteras Island and Statesville, NC.
She is survived by friend Pat Klum and her son AJ Klum; and by her children: Eriq Powers and spouse Melanie Padgett Powers, Gillian Powers and spouse Justin Van Prooyen, and Jason Powers and spouse Mei Powers all of Silver Spring, MD. Letty was preceded in death by her son Daniel Powers of Portland, OR and her sister Aleida Lewis of Westwood, NJ and brother Mark Phillips of Cortland, NY. She looked forward to singing with her son Daniel in heaven.
