Alvin Eugene Beard 71 of Newton died Tuesday, September 20th, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Aged 71, he was the son of the late Paul Lowell Beard and Margaret Barringer Beard. His wife Virginia Carol Russ Beard of the home; a daughter, Michelle Walling and husband Luke of Sherrills Ford; a son, Alvin Eugene Beard, ll of Newton; two step daughters, Cindy Roberts of Alexander, NC and Jennifer Bell of New Braunfels, TX; a half sister, Elizabeth Rozelle of Newton and four grandchildren survive him.
