Amado Medina

Amado Luis "Louie" Medina 60 of Claremont died January 30th, 2013 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Sherrills Ford. Born October 30th,1952 he was the son of the late Anacleto "Tito" Medina and Tomasa Aube Rodriguez. His wife, Linda Jean Medina of Claremont, a daughter, Christina Medina of Newton; two sons, Luis Medina and wife Lisa of Conover and Dennis George and wife Crystal Whipple of Hickory; Two step daughters, Melissa Milch and husband Brian and Joanna Styers and husband David; a step son, Chris Hicks and wife Alicia; two sisters, Maria O'Connor and husband Brendan of Plainfield, CT and Maria De la Cruz and husband Freddy of Tampa, FL; a brother, Carlos Medina of Tampa, FL; 12 grandchildren, J.T. Willis, Elizabeth Hicks, Jacob Hicks, Savannah Milch, Lillian Milch, Ian Milch, Logan Styers, Benjamin Styers, Meashea Main, Cortney Cartwright, Deja Lara, Abria Rodriguez Medina and one great grandchild to be born, ZayLynn Elese Main; a great number of nieces and nephews survive him. A daughter, Amanda Lynn Lara; three brothers, Edwin, Ramon and Ricardo Medina preceded him in death. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Friday February 1, 2013 at the chapel of Jenkins Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Young officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery in Catawba, NC. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm Friday, February 1st, 2013 at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Bill Curry, Chris Carter, Scotty Hedrick, MIchael Daigler, Gentry Treadway, Dennis Whipple and Mike Smith. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 2447 Coley Fish Pond Road or to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
