Andrew Mihut

July 3, 1998 — June 10, 2021

Andrew Paul Mihut 22 of Hickory died Thursday, June 10, 2021 at his residence. Born Friday, July 3rd, 1998 he was the son of Teofil Mihut and Mihaiela Cornelia Mihut.

His parents Teofil and Michelle Mihut of Granite Falls; a son, Tim Mihut of Hickory and two sisters, Rebecca Pop of Orange, CA and Gloria Mihut of Granite Falls nieces and nephews, Noel, Nathan Evan, Caleb, Evie survive him.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take” - (Proverbs 3:5-6). Andy was born in Hollywood, Florida. Little did we know that over a span of 22 years, Andy would have a tremendous impact on the people who met him. He was, without a doubt, the hands and feet of Jesus for others. He sensed emotions and often felt compelled to comfort the hurting, rejoice with the joyful, and encouraged many people. Andy loved the outdoors. Biking, fishing, dirt biking, hunting, snowboarding, and shooting were all his favorite pastimes. He never missed an opportunity to gather his friends and bring them along. He took what he learned from others and applied joy and passion to the light God called him to be. Andy also loved to visit his family. He was always excited and always was making plans with his nephews and niece. Throughout his life, Andy passed many milestones and obstacles. It brought him great joy when he saw that his family was proud and showed anyone what a little bit of humility, passion, and grace does. After graduating from high school, Andy became an apprentice to his father’s electrical company. He wanted to show how his father’s investment helped him, and he dreamt big and worked hard to do the best and be the best in this field. At the age of 20, Andy bought and remodeled his first house. At age 21, he got his opportunity to work industrial and commercial jobs. He was approved by the board to take an exam for an unlimited license as an electrical contractor. He accomplished so much so quickly and took great pride in it. But his most enormous accomplishment of all was when he gave his life to Jesus. It was the moment that shaped his future, the man whom he came to be. He would never accomplish a goal without giving God the glory, and he always said that his family pushed him to be the best version of himself. He fought his battles in prayer. He encouraged those around him, and he always worked to the best of his ability. He would never stop trying, no matter how difficult the situation was. Even though he had only 22 years, he accomplished a lot as a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend. He never walked past a person without stopping and getting to know them and considered every relationship in his life to be a blessing.

The funeral will be 6:30 pm Thursday June 17, 2021 at Discovery Church with Pastor Smith Sharpe officiating. Burial will be at Brookford Cemetery.
