Andy Lee Brittain, 88, of Granite Falls, passed away September 5th, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born, March 31st, 1935 he was the son of the late James Anthony Brittain and Vivle Mae Spurling Brittain.
He is survived by three sons, James Lee Brittain "Jeff" of Granite Falls, Michael "Scott" Brittain and his wife Michelle of Hickory, and Andy Todd Brittain of Granite Falls; a sister, Judy Bolick and husband Wayne of Newton; seven grandchildren, Tim and his wife Lorraine Shatley of Corpus Chirsti, Texas, Melissa Brittain of Granite Falls, Jonathan Brittain and girlfriend Brittany Shook of Conover, Jamie Brittain of Florida, Christopher Brittain of Morganton, Grayson Keller and wife Hailey of Baton, and Landrie Brittain of Hickory; nine great-grandchildren, Cody Brittain, Isaiah Phillips, Breanna Phillips, Alexis Stevens, Brison Brittain, Hunter Shatley, Holden Shatley, Mia Shatley, and Bella Shatley; a nephew Michael "Mike" Dellinger and wife Joan of Boone; nieces Debbie Suddreth and husband Phillip of Hickory, Wendy Bolick Mobley and husband Mackie of North Myrtle Beach, and Cassie Burleson and husband John of Newton.
He is preceded in death by his wife Helen Brittain; a son, Ray Brittain; his siblings, Raymond Brittain, Bud Brittain, and Rosie Dellinger and her husband Ray.
The family will receive friends from 3PM-4PM Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, at Jenkins Funeral Home with the service following at 4PM with Pastor Jerome Walker officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials made to Gateway Baptist Church located at 3105 Sandy Ford Rd. Newton, 28658 Care of Clothing Ministry
The family would like to extend a thank you to the third floor medical staff of Catawba Valley Medical Center and his longtime caretaker, Bruce Goodrich for all of the care and compassion that was shown to Andy.
