Annie Ruth Flowers Hoover, 87, of Hickory went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Trinity Ridge. Born August 20th, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Roy Flowers and Lillian Boston Williams.
Annie Hoover was a faithful servant of the Lord. She served as an usher, missionary, deaconess, and she sang in Angelic Choir. She was a lifetime member of Clinton Tabernacle AME Zion Church. She had a loving spirit, a loving mother, and a wonderful grandmother.
She is survived by her children Herbert Shuford of Hickory, Sharon Ann Hoover of Hickory, Herbert B. Hoover, Jr., of Bay Minette, Alabama, David Hoover of Conover, her daughters-in-law Charlene Shuford of Hickory and Viola Olivia Hoover of Bay Minette, a host of grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews, one sister Jacqueline Cain of Hickory, one brother Sam Booker of New York, and her special friends Gladys Scott and Gladys Shuford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Hoover, Sr., her daughter Patricia Hoover, and her sister Gladys Cade.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Clinton Tabernacle AME Zion Church, 485 Catawba Valley Blvd SE #465, Hickory, NC 28602.
The Home Going will be 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Clinton Tabernacle with Dr. Anthony Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
