Anthony Connor

Anthony Carl Connor,60, of Newton, passed away on January 20, 2024 at his residence. He was born of February 3, 1963, in Catawba County to his parents Jim Frank Connor and Nancy Wilson Connor. He was a graduate of Bandys High School Class of 1981 and employed by Wantl North America.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Chantae Smith; maternal grandmother, Virginia Wilson; paternal grandparents, Rudolphus and Luvenia Stockton Connor.

He leaves to cherish loving memories two sons: Anthony Carl (CL) connor, Jr. of Tennessee, Marcus Deangelos Shuford of South Carolina; a daughter, Alaysha Recole Connor of Tennessee, grandchildren, Prasanti, Shalise, JoRyen, Aashiyah, Malcolm, JaCarlo, three brothers, Arnold Franklin Connor (Mia) of Charlotte, NC. Adrian Renard Connor of Richmond, VA, Shawn Michael Connor (Phyllis) of Gerguson, NC, one uncle, Willie Connor of Hickory, two aunts, Catherine Wilson of Newton, NC and Patrina Nolan (Lonnie) of Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


The Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 3:00pm at Motts Grove United Methodist Church, 8790 Sherrills Ford Road, Sherrills Ford, NC 28673, with Minister Ericia Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Motts Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00pm -3:00pm at the church.
