Archie Morrow

Archie Ray Morrow age 60 of West Main Street Claremont died last week at his residence. Born May 18 1949, he was the son of the late Carlton Ray and Mary Rose Morrow. He was a member of St. Markâ??s Lutheran Church, a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam and a member of the American Legion Post 48. He was a supervisor in the furniture industry, was a part time Busch Official with NASCAR. He also volunteered with the Claremont Fire Department. A daughter, Mitzi Morrow Fortner and her husband Mark of Taylorsville; a son, Jason Ray Morrow of Claremont; a brother Arnold Lee and his wife Revonda Morrow of Conover; two nephews, Brian Darin Morrow and a niece, Victoria Cochran; eight grandchildren, Christain, Nicholas, Kirsten, Aaron, Matthew, Christy, Jasmine and Alyssa survive him. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with The Revs. William Hollar and Gary Haddock officiating. Burial will follow in St. Markâ??s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Claremont. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
