Atha Calvert

Atha Jean Calvert 82, of Linville died Saturday, June 18th, 2016 at Cannon Memorial Hospital. Born May 13th, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Colbert and Naomi Franklin. Atha served as a RN for 52 years, spending most of her time working in Banner Elk. Two grandchildren Shawn Calvert and Fiancee Tricia of Linville, great granddaughter, Madison Calvert of Asheville; Bridgett Morgan and husband Jason and there son Ridge of Roan Mnt. TN; and a number of nieces and nephews survive her. In addition to her husband of over 60 years Clarence (Ray) Calvert; her daughter Patricia (Pat) Calvert preceded her in death The funeral will be 5:30pm Thursday, June 23rd, 2016 at Elk Valley Baptist Church with Dan Price and Dr. Ken Harper officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm -5:30 pm Thursday, June 23rd, 2016.
