Barbara Benfield

Barbara Anne Benfield, 73 of 2nd Avenue, Maiden died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton. Born July 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Jason Thomas Benfield & Velma Laura Summers Benfield. Barbara was a loving Mother & grandmother. She retired in 1980 from real estate sales. Two daughters, Linda Lee Nash & husband William of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, Bobra Jaye Lane of Kernersville, NC; a son, David R. Mull of Boone, NC; a brother, Thomas Benfield of Myrtle Beach, SC and three grand-children, Johnithan Combee, William Nash and Michelle Nash survive her. A son, Scott Langenback and sister, Betty Drum preceded her in death. No local services are planned. Burial will be in Auburndale Memorial in Auburndale, Florida. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
