“AND I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER’ PSALM 23:6
Barbara Kay Davis, 81, of Hickory, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord after her battle with vascular dementia, on Thursday, February 17, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Gladwin Emerson and Beatrice Irene Martyn of Michigan.
She was a beloved sister to her brother Ted and wife Kate, sister-in-law Mary and husband Frank. A loving and devoted mother to her children Randy and wife Gabrielle, Kathleen and husband Gabriel, David and wife Alicia, Patricia, Jennifer and husband Justin, Laura and husband Trent. Stepchildren Arthur, Julie, Shelly and “adopted children” (you all know who you are). Proud grandmother of ten grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and one great grandchild survive her.
Barbara’s faith, family and friends were the most important things in her life. Nothing brought her more peace than spending time reading the word of God, singing His praises, or sharing the good news of His salvation with family, friends, or strangers. Her love for others was endless and given freely to all she came to know, often adopting them into her own family. She will be dearly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, her husband Arthur William-Joseph Davis preceded her in death.
A celebration of life for Barbara, will be held at Lifepoint Church Hickory on Saturday, March 5th at 11 am. Following the service, we will gather to share our memories of Barbara in the fellowship hall with light refreshments.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s name at
the Dementia Society of America

Lifepoint Church Hickory
at 2123 5th Street NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
