Barbara Willis

Barbara Yoder Willis 72 of Charlotte died peacefully Wednesday December 5, 2012 at Asbury Care Center in Charlotte. Born August 5, 1940, she was the only daughter of the late Ernest Franklin Yoder and Beatrice Teague Yoder. She was a 1957 graduate of Hildebran High School and attended Lenoir-Rhyne College. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC after 25 years of service. Three sons, Donald J. Brooks and wife Lindsay of Cary, Ronald E. Brooks of Waxhaw and Allen Brooks of Charlotte; two step daughters, Renae Cline of Hickory and Susie Crowder of Hickory; two step sons, Ronald Willis of Linwood, NC and Greg Willis of Newton; a brother, Hal Yoder and wife Shirley of Burlington; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren survive her. Her husband of 35 years, Eugene Baker Willis and a brother, Robert Yoder preceded her in death. The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday December 8, 2012 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Stephen R. Disher officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 pm Saturday December 8, 2012 prior to the service at the funeral home. It was Barbara's wish to have attendees join together for a light lunch after the service at the Jenkins Funeral Home pavilion.
