Basmattee Singh

Basmattee Singh 65 of Hickory died Friday, January 6, 2023 at her residence. Born August 20th, 1957 she was the daughter of the late Tilackdhari Singh and Dilranie Singh. She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield in the NY Twin Tower just prior to the attack on 9/11/2021. She worked as a nurse assistance in a private practice in Florida before her retirement and moving to Hickory. Basmattee attended Assemblies of God and Full Gospel Fellowship Church in both NY and Florida. Basmattee Singh was also one of the initial members and worship leader for the Sanctuary of GOD church in St. Cloud, Florida.

Five sisters, Doreen Poonwasi, Indro Agam, Dhanmatee Singh, Jean Samaroo and Chandrawattie (Chickie) Persaud; three brothers, Veram Singh, Pastor Coowar Singh and Pastor Subaschand (Subas) Singh survive her.

In addition to her parents,Tilackdhari Singh and Dilranie Singh, a sister, Latchmi (Manganee) Singh and three brothers, Harry Singh, Dinonauth (Dino) Singh and Tage Singh preceded her in death.

The funeral will be 3:00 PM Wednesday January 11, 2023 at the chapel of Jenkins Funeral Home with Pastor Coowar Singh, Pastor Subaschand Singh and Pastor Naresh Samaroo officiating. Family members may go to the Jenkins Facebook page at 3:00 PM EST to watch a live streaming of the Service.(The Service will be video taped and be available at the same location for viewing later.) Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 PM Wednesday in the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
