Belvia Richardson

Belvia Susanne Brooks Richardson, 92 of Conover died Monday, November 4, 2013 at Conover Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born September 5, 1921 in Ashe County, NC she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Brooks and Hattie Ham Brooks. Belvia was a member of East First Street Baptist Church for over 56 years and a faithful member of Sunday School, WMU and a nursery worker for over 40 years. Her husband, Jones Nathan Richardson; nine siblings and a son in law, Johnny A. Punch, Jr. preceded her in death. Four daughters, Janie Richardson Harwell and husband Steve of Myrtle Beach, SC, Judy Richardson Punch and husband Gary of Hickory, Jone Richardson Siebenaler and husband Bill of Midlothian, VA and Tonya Richardson Storilassi of Stratford, CT; two sons, Jerry Richardson and wife Jeanette of Granite Falls and Garry Richardson and wife Luci of Catawba, NC; a brother, J.T. Brooks and wife Anna of Bristol, TN; nine grand-children, Nathan Harwell, Amy R. Wright, Mendy R. Crump, Johnny A. Punch, III, Robert Punch, Andrea Punch, Shelly R. Spurlin, Ashley S. Santopietro and Austen Siebenaler; three step grandchildren, Carmen Smith, Matt Punch and Brian Punch and 14 great grand-children survive her. The Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel in Newton with Rev. David Lyda and Rev. James Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
