Betty Cash

Betty Witten Cash, 67 of Newton died Wednesday May 28th, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born March 3rd, 1947 she was the daughter of the late John Edward Witten and Maude Viola Byrd Witten. She retired from Century Furniture after 35 years of service. Her husband of nearly 19 years, William Cecil Cash of the home; a son, David McDowell and wife Caroline of Gastonia; a step son Stephen Eugene Cash and wife Lori of Hickory; two step daughters, Paula Rene Kiziah and husband Rick of Newton and Gina Eileen Buchanan and husband Kelly of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Doris Whited and husband Ballard of Raven, VA; three brothers, Carl Witten and wife Martha of Martinsville, VA, James Witten and wife Brenda of Lynchburg, VA and Billy Ray Witten of North Tazewell; a grand daughter Chasta Cash and a great grand son Luca Cameos survive her. Her first husband Vernon Wayne McDowell preceded her in death. The funeral will be 11:00 am Friday May 30th, 2014 at Gateway Baptist Church with Pastor Jerome Walker, Pastor William Kanupp and Pastor Charles Styles officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. Friday May 30th,2014 at Gateway Baptist Church.
