Betty Hamilton

October 25, 1930 — February 11, 2010

Betty Lois Hamilton, 79 of Lenoir and formerly of Ohio died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Gateway Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Lenoir. Born October 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late, James Owen & Opal Luidra Neff Slider.  Betty was a graduate of Middleburn High School in West Virginia and a member of Hickory Church of Christ on Fairgrove Church Road. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed sports and loved her friends and family. She was a devoted caregiver to her husband, Ralph and her daughter, Sandra.  A daughter, Debra Scalise of Ontario, California, two sisters; Grayce Buck of Sistersville, West Virginia, and Nancy Cooper of Paden City, West Virginia, a brother, James Slider of Sistersville, West Virginia; a grand-daughter, Jennifer Dyson of Newton and many nieces & nephews survive her. Her husband, Ralph Waldon Hamilton and her daughter, Sandra Sue Hamilton Houser preceded her in death. A graveside service will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park & Memory Gardens in Canton, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 Friday, February 12, 2010 at Jenkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to: The American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct. Glen Allen, Va. 23060 (and) Hospice of Caldwell County; 902 Kirkwood Street, NW, Lenoir NC 28645.
