Betty Jean Herman Kiser 94 of Vale died Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at Carolina Care Health and Rehab Center in Cherryville. Born April 22nd, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Charles Herman and Shula Eller Herman. She and her husband Jack spent their life in the grocery business for over 33 years and were active in the Catawba County Farmers Market.
Two sons, James (Jack) Lewis Kiser, Jr. and wife Melissa of Gastonia and David William Kiser of Vale, NC; two grand daughters, Amy Kiser of McAdenville and Caroline Kiser Green and husband Marshall of Gastonia; a sister-in-law Fay Kiser Perkins of Hickory; four nephews, Tommy Link and wife Teresa of Hickory and Micky Link of Pacific Beach, CA., Joe Kiser of Vale, NC, Russ Perkins of Hickory and wife Katie and a niece, Jane Perkins and husband John Rubin of Chapel Hill survive her.
Her husband of 57 years James L. (Jack) Kiser; a son, Toby Sidney Kiser; a brother, Charles Herman and a sister, Helen Link preceded her in death.
The funeral will be 11:00 am Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Aaron Causby officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hickory.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am-11:00 am Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 at Jenkins Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice PO Box 3984 Gastonia, NC 28054 or the charity of one's choice.
