Betty Roberts

Betty Ruth Bumgarner Roberts, 81 of Rock Barn Road, Conover, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at her residence. Born April 5, 1931 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Beulah Mae Willis Bumgarner and William Bumgarner. In addition to her husband of 61 years, Alton E. Roberts of the home; two daughters, Sandra A. Bixby and husband Daniel of Conover and Patty D. Roberts of Newton; three sisters, Lois Chapman, Rachel Proctor and Ruby Leonard; two brothers, William Jack Bumgarner and John A. Bumgarner and two grand-children, Karmen Lawing and Rebecca Bixby survive her. A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 am on Friday, July 13, 2012 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ken Swanson will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the chapel.
