Betty Seitz

Betty Lucille Poovey Seitz, 95, of Hickory passed away Sunday, January 14th, 2024 at Conover Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born, March 2nd, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Frank Marcus Poovey and Ellen Davidson Poovey.

Betty worked a number of years for Field Insurance Agency and Carolina Mills. She was an active member of Old St. Paul's Lutheran Church and even taught a Sunday School class and also participated in the choir. She especially loved her Women's Circle of the church for Bible study. She loved her family and will surely be missed by all.

She is survived by her daughters, Loraine Seitz Rhoney and her husband Steve Rhoney, Patty Seitz Greenhill and her husband Tommy Greenhill; grandchildren, Dana Greenhill, Tamela Rhoney Joyce and her husband Jason Joyce, Jason Greenhill and his wife Sarah Greenhill; great-grandchildren, Justin Joyce and his wife Sofie Joyce, Joshua Joyce, Joanna Joyce, Jordan Joyce, and Henry Greenhill.

In addition to her parents, Frank Marcus Poovey and Ellen Davidson Poovey, she is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Franklin Seitz; an infant daughter, Sarah Jane Seitz; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Steele Joyce and Addison Leah Greenhill.

The Celebration of Life will be 2PM Wednesday, January 24th, 2024 at Old St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Miller officiating the service located at 2035 Old Conover-Startown Rd, Newton, NC 28658. The visitation will follow the service in the sanctuary of Old St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations for Old St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
