Betty Sue Clanton Small, 77 of Betterbrook Ln. Lincolnton died Saturday, July 02, 2011 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton. Born January 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Judson William Clanton & Elizabeth Jane Morgan Clanton. In addition to her husband of 55 years, James Arnold Small of the home; a daughter, Sandra Lane & husband Randal of Lincolnton; a son, James Todd Small & wife Tina of Cherryville; eight grand-children and 13 great grand-children and special friend & care giver, Rebecca Messer of Lincolnton survive her. A daughter, Elizabeth Diane Elmore; and son, Dannie William Elmore preceded her in death. The funeral will be 3:00 pm Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Jonathan King will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
