Bobby Lee Elmore

December 5, 1953 — March 21, 2025

Newton

Bobby Lee Elmore, 71, of Newton passed away Friday, March 21st, 2025 in his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Welch, West Virginia on December 5th, 1953, he was the son of the late Charles Junior Elmore and Mildred Jean Trivett Elmore.

Bobby's professional journey began with various roles that led him to the #9 US Steel Coal Mines in West Virginia. He extended his expertise to Martin Merritta Rock Quarry, where he further cemented his reputation as a diligent worker. However, it was perhaps his entrepreneurial spirit that shone brightest when he founded his own cleaning service. For over two decades, he provided dedicated service to Catawba County Mental Health—a testament to his commitment to supporting his community. Additionally, his diligent work as a Sexton for several churches including, St. Stephen's Lutheran ELCA Church and Highland United Methodist Church not only enriched his life, but also the lives of many who benefited from his meticulous care of these sacred spaces.

Bobby's heart was boundless, given generously to his beloved children, grandchildren, and his cherished great-granddaughters. Family, to him, was not merely an aspect of life; it was the very essence of his being. Every blade of grass that he cut, every flower that bloomed under his watchful eye, reflected the beauty he sought to create in his home and in the lives of those he loved.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Tamara S. Elmore; his daughters Suzanne Elmore Bachman (Scott) and Mindy Elmore Herman (Rick); his grandchildren, Kiersten Elmore and fiancé Ethan McGalliard, Payten and Jake Mann, Hayden Huff and Maci Herman; his great granddaughters, Brinley and Britton McGalliard; his sisters, Wanda McManus (Charlie), Connie Elmore; his sister-in-law, Betty Elmore; and with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Charles Junior Elmore, and Mildred Jean Trivett Elmore, he is preceded in death by his grandparents; his siblings; and his brothers, Ronnie, Lawrence, Ray and Eddie Elmore.

The family will receive friends 4PM-5:15PM Friday, March 28th, 2025 at St. Paul’s Reformed Church located at 3562 Startown Rd, Newton, NC 28658. The Funeral Service will follow at 5:30PM.
