Bonnie Jones

Bonnie Pauline Lloyd Jones, 87, died October 23, 2010 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born December 8, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Gordon Lloyd and Mary Pauline Hill Lloyd. In 1941, she moved to Hollywood, California seeking the American dream. At the famed intersection of Hollywood and Vine, she met and later married Harvey Elrose Roberts and in October of 1943 gave birth to Cathy-Jo Roberts. In the late 1950's, Bonnie was; with husband Wes Fredeen; the owner & operator of the Odell Lake Fishing Lodge, Oregon and later lived a few years in Alaska. In December of 1968, she married Lyle Waldron Jones and they were married for thirty-eight years, until Lyle passed away in 2006. Bonnie was a devoted and loving individual who enjoyed entertaining, traveling and always saw the good in others. She was always an adventurer, eager to see what was down the road and over the hill. Bonnie riveted airplanes together during WWII, joining forces with “Rosie the Riveters." She was also gifted in crafts, painting, sketching and stained glass. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy-Jo Roberts of Hudson, a step-son, David Jones & wife Cyndi of Salisbury and five grand-children, Alexander Safir, Jason Brandt, Cody Hamby, Daniel Jones & Erin Jones. A Celebration of her life will be held 6:00 p.m. Saturday November 13, 2010 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1775 Connelly Springs Road in Lenoir. Interment will be at Redwood Cemetery, Redwood, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Caldwell County Hospice, 902 Kirkwood St., NW Lenoir, NC 28645.
