Brenda Joan Jenkins Martin, 78, of Hickory passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born October 18th, 1944 she was the daughter of the late C. Fred Jenkins and Dora Virginia Styles Jenkins.
Brenda was an active member of Bethel Evangelical and Reformed Church in Mountain View. She was the chair of the fellowship committee chair for many years and served on the church council.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Roy Butch Martin, brother Harry Lee Jenkins, daughter Pamela Ruerup and her husband Rob of Hickory, daughter Paula Garrett and her husband Bobby of Hickory, grandchildren Jessica Dozier, Amber Pyatt, Haylie Garrett, Xzandir DeSha, Robby Ruerup, and Raymond Ruerup, great-grandchildren Cauthen Dozier and Laurel Pyatt, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons Gary Dean Martin and Charles Edward Martin and two great-grandchildren Satine Dozier and Lucas Pyatt.
The family is planning a private service for a later date.
