Brenda Mcfarland

Ms. Mary “Brenda” McFarland, 77, of Hickory passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Trinity Village in Hickory, NC. Born Wednesday, June 27th, 1945 she was the daughter of the late William Plato McFarland and Mary “Aileen” Brackett McFarland. Brenda accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was a member of Mount Moriah United Methodist Church before moving to Hickory in 2013. Brenda retired from Hickory Springs Manufacturing Plant. Brenda loved visiting with family, Bible Study, watching Disney Movies and Cartoons.

She leaves a large family to cherish her memory. Survived by her two brothers; Douglas “Pete” McFarland and family of Casar, Larry McFarland and family of Ellenboro, 6 Nieces, 2 Nephews, and a hosts of grand nieces and nephews who loved her very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Joe Harrison McFarland and William Edison McFarland.

The Celebration of Life will be Friday, December 16th, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Jenkins Funeral Home, 4081 Startown Road, Newton, NC 28658. The funeral service will immediately follow the receiving of friends with Mr. Bill Gagg Officiating from approximately 7:00 – 7:30 P.M. No Burial service will follow.
