Carl Cranford

Carl Ray "Toot" Cranford 72 of Normandy Street Conover died Sunday December 23, 2012 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born December 9, 1940 he was the son of the late George David Cranford and Mary Ella Sims Cranford. He was a lifelong self employed carpenter. His wife, Gail Louise Yoder Cranford of the home; a daughter, Angela Burns and husband Chris of Claremont; a son, Kenneth Welch of Conover; a sister, Beverly Roberts and husband Don of Conover; two brothers, David Lee Cranford and wife Martha of Newton and Bill Cranford and wife Shirley of Conover and a grandchild Madison Welch survive him. A brother, Carrol Cranford preceded him/her in death. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Thursday December 27, 2012 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Escar Clanton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday December 26th, 2012 at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Danny Bishop, Randy Bishop, Terry Bishop, Lee Roberts, Dudley Wireman and Jeff Lee. Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
