Carol Borchardt

Carol Joyce Labahn Borchardt, 78 of Hickory died Thursday, November 5th, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born April 13th, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Bruno and Esther Degeorge Labahn. Carol loved all of her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She was a beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother who always put others first. In addition to her husband of 57 years William (Bill) Borchardt Sr; two daughters Cherryl Gilmore and husband Robert (Bob) of Summerfield, NC, Laurene (Laurie) Nelson and husband C.J. of Lincolnton; two sons William ( Bill) Borchardt Jr. and wife Kimberly of Charlotte, Jeff Borchardt of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Borchardt, Laurel Borchardt, Leah Gilmore, Adam Gilmore, and David Waggoner Jr. survive her. In addition to her parents, a sister, June Sullivan and two brothers, Earle Labahn and Tom Labahn preceded her in death. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, November 8th, 2015 at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Schwandt officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Sunday at the church.
