Carol Elizabeth Richey 45 of Morganton died Friday August 2nd, 2013 at CMC Charlotte. Born July 6th, 1968 She was the daughter of Johnny Allen Pope and Thelma Kay Woody Pope.
She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 16 years. She was a loving mother of her children for 24 years.
Her father, Johnny Allen Pope of Morganton; a son, E.J. Starnes of Hickory; a daughter, Sydney Richey of Morganton; her former husband, Evan Starnes of Hickory; a half sister, Tracey George of Hildebran; and a niece Kerstin VanHuss of Lenoir survive her.
In addition to her mother, Thelma Kay Woody Pope; her husband, John Robert Richey; and a brother, Robert Christopher Pope preceded her in death.
The funeral will be 4:00 pm Friday August 9th, 2013 at New Covenant Church of God with Rev. Dennis Pitts and Rev. Tim Hartzel officiating.
Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
