Carolyn Walker

Carolyn Hunter Walker 77 of Hickory died Thursday, April 21st, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born December 4th, 1938 she was the daughter of the late John Jarrett Hunter and Helen Hicks Hunter. Her husband, Glen Walker of the home; a daughter, Julia Barge and husband Mason of Atlanta, GA; two sons, John Walker and wife Paige of Hickory and David Walker and wife Betsy of Crossnore, NC; a brother, Doug Hunter of Winterpark, FL and two grandchildren, Hunter Walker and wife Amber of Raleigh and Katherine Walker and husband Justin Thompson of Asheville survive her. The family offers special thanks to her long-time caregiver, Sandra Carson and to the staff at Trinity Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, in Hickory, with Rev. Karla Woggon officiating. Burial will be in the church garden. A reception will follow immediately in the church Parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Habitat for Humanity, or Safe Harbor Rescue Mission of Hickory, NC.
