Carroll Johnson

Carroll Milton Johnson, 91, of Conover passed away Friday, December 2, 2022, at Gateway Rehab and HC. Born February 3rd, 1931, he was the son of the late Daniel Franklin Johnson and Hester Haas Johnson. He had been a life long member of Beth Eden Lutheran Church of Newton where he was an active choir member and served on the Property Committee. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, trains, and bluegrass music.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lucille Johnson of Conover; his daughter, Barbara Johnson Gryder (Bill) of Newton; two grandchildren, Leslie Gryder Reese (Jason) of Virginia and Bradley Gryder (Danielle) of Hickory; and three great grandchildren Jacob Reese, Alex Reese, and Addison Gryder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Thelma Johnson Jones.

The visitation will be 1-1:45 December 10th, in the sanctuary of Beth Eden Lutheran Church, followed by a memorial service at 2PM with Pastor Marcus Ollis officiating.
