Celia Brittain

Celia Myers Brittain, 91 of Catawba County died Tuesday May 13th, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born March 6th, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Flake Oren Myers and Nellie Workman Myers. With a love for life and her infectious smile, Celia was a devoted servant to God, her family and the community. Her love for children was reflected in her service with the school system and in her church. Two daughters, Janis Brittain Orinson of Charlotte and Robin Brittain Kale and husband Roger of Lincolnton; a brother, Harold B. Myers of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Marc Samuel Orinson and wife Sondra, Kara Orinson Packer and husband Brian, Rosalyn Kale Hart and husband Scott and Robert William Kale and wife Jessica; six great grandchildren, Hilary Elizabeth Orinson, Edward Alexander Orinson, Claire Elizabeth Packer, Gwen Katherine Packer, Paisley Brielle Hart, Addie Hart and a soon to be born great grand son, Tucker Oren Hart survive her. In addition to her parents, her husband, Howard Belle Brittain, a son-in-law, The Rev. Edward Luther Orinson, three brothers, Paul N. Myers, Joe N. Myers and Ray Oren Myers and a great grand-daughter, Emma Paige Hart preceded her in death. The funeral will be 2:30pm Saturday May 17th, 2014 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Stephen R. Disher and Pastor Nicholas King officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Vale. Pallbearers will be Roger Kale, Marc Orinson, Robert Kale, Brian Packer, Scott Hart and Alex Orinson. The family will receive friends from 1-2:15pm Saturday May 17th, 2014 at the funeral home prior to the service.
