Surviving are his loving wife, Tonya Elliott Webb of Hickory; son’s, Adam Webb (Rebekah) of Gainesville, FL; Chase Webb of Hickory; Benjamin Bryant of Burnsville; grandchildren, Gabriel Webb, Connor Webb, Madison Webb and Rahleigh Saunders; siblings, Ann “Doodle” Whitson (Bill) of Taylorsville; Brenda Webb of Lenoir; Linda Roberts (Buck) of Mount Airy; Martin Webb (Beth) of Conover; mother-in-law, Carolyn Elliott of Hickory; sister-in-law, Karen Elliott; brother-in-law, Dana Elliott (Deidra) of Granite Falls; 15 nephews and nieces; numerous grandnephews and grandnieces.
Keith was born and raised in Burnsville, NC. He graduated from Cane River High School where he excelled in sports and was named most popular his senior year. He attended Mars Hill College prior to moving to Hickory where he met Tonya, they were married for 46 years. His true love was family and praising his Lord. He loved music and always sang along when he heard an old gospel song come on the radio. His grandchildren always brought a smile to his face and he loved visiting them.
Most of his career was spent in transportation. He worked for Fredrickson Motor Express for 15 years as a sales manager and received multiple sales awards. Then went to Conway Southern for 10 years and Boyles Furniture for 16 years. He knew early on he had the gift of talk and this led him into sales. No matter where he was he could walk up to a stranger and within one conversation he knew their life story. Even though it would usually embarrass those with him, Keith always had the need to know more.
His love of knowledge was gained through conversation, books, documentaries and sports. He loved watching sports but he received great joy in being an umpire and referee. He officiated ball games for over 40 years. He enjoyed talking with the players and their parents. He also loved gardening and had numerous flowers that he enjoyed tending to.
At a glance Keith seemed to be a serious person. But it wouldn’t take you long to realize he could be a jokester and he loved giving people a hard time. But it usually ended with a good laugh and he always gave you a big hug when saying goodbye.
