Charles Philip Lamm, 97, of Newton, passed away Friday, June 25, 2021 at Abernethy Laurels. Born December 13th, 1923 he was the son of Philip Charles Lamm and Edna May Decker Lamm. A US Navy Veteran, he was a retired Executive Vice President with Centel Telephone Company serving 42 years. He attended John's Hopkins University and taught at Florida State University, Auburn University, the University of Michigan and University of Kansas.
Two daughters, Betsy Lindler and husband Hugh of Newton and Sherrie Kunze and husband Bill of Columbia, SC; a twin sister, Charlotte Stevens of Olivet, MI; five grandchildren, Charles Dow Kunze, Jonathan William Kunze, Mary Catherine Kunze, Charlton Lindler and Philip Lindler and four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Kunze, Callie Kunze, Culver Kunze and Adeline Lindler survive him.
His wife, Betty Jean Lamm and his sister, Vivian Carson Poulus preceded him in death.
A graveside service will be 12:00PM, August 20th, 2021 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229.
