Charles Gary Speagle, 75, of Vale, NC, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at his home. Born July 18th, 1948, he was the son of the late Charles Franklin Speagle and Sally Brittain Speagle.
Gary was an Army Veteran and served his county in the Vietnam War. He loved watching the NY Yankees play baseball, fishing, and anything farming related. His greatest joy was his three granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Brenda Boyles Speagle.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Misty Foster and husband Matthew, grandchildren, Petyon Foster, Paige Foster, and Avery Foster; brothers Jack Speagle, Randy Speagle, and Monte Speagle.
Gary lived a quiet life and did not wish to have a funeral service, but instead he wanted people to remember him in overalls on his tractor planting wheat, soybeans, or corn as this was what made him the happiest. He asked that you take a walk in the country, appreciate the local farmers, enjoy the smell of rain, and enjoy what God has given us. Make the best of the time you have with your family and friends and enjoy "today" because you don't know what tomorrow will bring.
Every farmer puts his land to rest in the winter and on the spring's horizon it comes back to life. God has put this farmer to rest, reunited with his beloved wife Brenda, and he begins a new journey.
A celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
