Charlotte Hartzog Huffman 103 of Newton died Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at her residence. Born, November 6th, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Ray Hartzog and Mary Fox Hartzog. She was the best Christian mother anyone could have. She taught Kindergarten for many years at Hudson Baptist Church. As students became adults, many of them recognized her as their great teacher. She enjoyed traveling with Ginny and Jimmy many places across the east coast from Maine to Florida. She was very adventurous. At 92, she actually went kayaking on the Catawba River at Rhodhiss Lake. One of her favorite places was the Molasses Boiling in West Jefferson.
A daughter, Virginia "Ginny" Huffman of Newton; two sons, Charles Avery Huffman, Jr.and wife Cindy of Conover and James "Jimmy" Richard Huffman of Newton; Grandchildren; Kelly Wayne Stevens, Cheryl Huffman, Allison Huffman, Eddie Huffman, Jonathan Triplett, Leah Geates; eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren survive her.
In addition to her husband, Charles Avery Huffman, a granddaughter, Gina Annette Jenkins, four sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
The funeral will be 2:00 PM Tuesday December 31, 2024 with Rev. Aaron Causby officiating. Burial will follow at Hudson Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 PM Tuesday December 31, 2024 at the funeral home.
