Charlotte Plumley

Charlotte Jean Plumley, 61 of Hickory, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 30, 2016, at her residence after a period of declining health. Born August 8, 1954, in Raleigh County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lee Kirk and Margaret Jean Kirk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Adam Jacob Plumley. She was a member of Christ United Baptist Church in Longview. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Willie Edward Plumley Sr. of Hickory; sons, Willie Plumley, Jr. and wife, Kelly of Hickory, and Michael Plumley of Hickory; grandchildren, Madison Plumley of Taylorsville, Kelsey Plumley, Landon Plumley, Emelyn Plumley, and Paisley Plumley of Hickory; brothers Danny Kirk and wife Vickie of Lenoir, and Roger Kirk and wife Donna of Hickory; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel in Newton with Pastor Clarence “Junior” Plumley officiating. Burial will follow in the Jenkins Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3:00 pm at Jenkins Funeral Home.
