Cheryl Gaddis

Cheryl Ann Gaddis, 59, of Gastonia passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Atrium Health. Born December 10, 1964, she was the daughter of the late James Lynn Church and Ann Lee Church.

Cheryl was a homemaker and had a great love for the Lord. She enjoyed playing bingo, spending time with her family and friends, and cherished her pets Foxy and Bailey. She had a passion for watching game shows and had a vibrant sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew her. Cheryl's family describes her as one of a kind, always putting others before herself and spoiling her grandchildren with love and taking them shopping. She lovingly cared for her granddaughter Kaylee for five years, and enjoyed simple pleasures like walking through Wal-Mart and sharing stories from their day.

She is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Steven Gaddis; her sister, Becky Sharpe (Junior); her brother, Keith Church (Rhonda); her son, Christopher Shoemaker (Raquel); her stepdaughters, Stephanie Carpenter (Jason), Megan Gaddis, and Monica Gaddis; her grandchildren; Brooklyn, Alexis, Carly, Raven, Kaylee, Emma-Kate, Eva, Elijah, Evan, and Luna; her many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Brenda Isley.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Church.

The family will receive friends from 10AM-11AM Friday, August 16th, 2024, in Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel located at 4081 Startown Rd Newton, NC 28658. The Celebration of Life will follow at 11AM.
