Christopher Leatherman

Christopher David Leatherman, 47, died early Saturday morning December 2nd 2023 in Lenoir. He was born December 17th 1976 at Pitt County Memorial hospital in Greenville, North Carolina. Chris was a free-spirited, bright and caring person. Anyone who he cared for he cared for viscously, he was always willing to give the shirt off his back for those he loved. He enjoyed listening to music and being outdoors, spending time with family members/friends and going where ever his feet carried him.

He is preceded in death by his father David Leatherman, grandmother Frances Deaton Leatherman and great-great aunt Sharon Lutz. He is survived by his daughter Natasha Leatherman and her mother Tina Shuford; mother Ann Burgan; stepmother Robyn Hollar; brothers: Brian Leatherman, Todd Clarke, Jeffrey Hollar; sisters: Ali-Jordan Hollar, Amy Sigmon; nieces: Kynslee Leatherman, Bristol Hollar, Ainsley Sigmon, Abbey Sigmon; nephews: Justin Leatherman, Tyler Leatherman; great-great aunt Sheila Greene and her husband Max Greene; great-great uncle: Mark Leatherman and wife Barbara Leatherman; cousins: Lance Greene and wife Yolanda Greene, Angie Wilson and husband Will Wilson, Emery Wilson, Jackson Wilson, Kinley Greene.

A service to celebrate Chris’ life will be held at Plateau United Methodist Church Friday, Dec. 22nd at 1pm in Vale. Pastor Ketjuan Lewis will officiate. A burial of ashes will follow in the church cemetery. This will be the only service held.
