Clarence Jerry Reinhardt 82 of Newton died Monday, December 17, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury. Born Sunday, May 3rd, 1936, he was the son of Clarence Avery and Ada Bessie Jenkins Reinhardt. He was raised by his uncle and aunt, Garland and Elizabeth Reinhardt. He loved his family dearly. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing and was an avid fan of the Newton-Conover Red Devils. He and his wife Faye, owned and operated Abundant Life Florist in Newton. He was a US Army Veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 16. He worked at Klopman Mills until the mill closed and retired from Midstate Mills after 25 years.
His wife of 60 years Jessie Faye Elmore Reinhardt of the home; a daughter, Cynthia Reinhardt Whitener and husband Greg of Connelly Springs; two grandchildren, Dr. Gregory Whitener and wife Dr. Amanda Whitener of Stony Point and Victoria Lee and husband Jeremy of Catawba and numerous nieces and nephews survive him.
One brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
The funeral will be 3:00 pm Saturday December 22, 2018 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Todd Smith and Rev. Harold Whitener officiating. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm-2:30 pm Saturday December 22, 2018 at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
