Clifford Oneal Sikes passed away on June 19, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center. He graduated from Hickory High School in 1953. He then lived in Waynesville, Charlotte, Montreal, California and Phoenix, AZ, before moving back to Hickory in 2002. He served in the United States Air force, worked for Dun and Bradstreet, Wachovia and retired from Phillips-Magnavox. Known for being charming and witty, he loved to travel and had a 100% devotion to driving Buick's. Cifford was born on September 23, 1934 in Catawba County to Leon and Nellie Biddix Sikes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Inez Fleming Melvin. Survivors include a sister, Lindle Smith of Hickory; nephews, Steve (Debi) Fleming of Asheville and Larry (Kim) Fleming of Vale. The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Trinity Village for their expertise, kindness and support for the last two years of his life and to Frye Regional Medical Center staff for their wonderful care and attention in his last days.
