Courtney Leigh Price Ellis, 55, of Lenoir passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at her home. She was the daughter of Howard Lewis Price and the late Carol Joyce Carter Price. Courtney is survived by the love of her life Sam Ellis and her greatest blessings, her three sons, Thorn Ellis and wife Taylor of Myrtle Beach, SC; Trey Ellis of Lenoir and Cade Ellis of Lenoir; her brother Lew Price and wife Lora of Franklin, TN; her sisters-by-heart, Carmen Saunders and Sharon Barlow special friend, Randell Dula and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Courtney was a member of First Baptist Church and was a passionate educator. She taught K-3 for 34 years at Kings Creek Elementary, West Lenoir Elementary and Davenport Elementary. To know Courtney was to love her. Her laugh and smile were contagious. She loved to shop, watch Hallmark movies and cheer for her boys at all of their sporting events. She was happiest when she was with her family and friends. Even during her battle with cancer, she had a strong faith and a strong love for her Lord.
A private burial will be held at First Baptist of Lenoir.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
