Dale Dean "Cheerwine" Bentley, 76 of Lincolnton died Saturday, July 9th, 2016 at his residence. Born January 17th, 1940 he was the son of the late Clifford Bentley and Leola Pansy Walker Bentley. Once dependent on the length of his oxygen line, he is now free to reach heavenly distances. He was formerly employed by Pepsi and Sun Drop Bottling company and was affectionately known as "Cheerwine." In years past, he worked for the Singing Greene's as security and Grandfather Mountain. In 2000, he retired from St. Stephen High School as the manager of maintenance and custodial staff. In addition to his wife, Hazel Elizabeth Willis Bentley of the home; a daughter, Donna Jane Bentley of Charlotte; a son, Michael LeFevers and wife Renita of Lincolnton; a brother, Vestal Bentley of Granite Falls; four grand-children; and special children in his life, J.T. Willis, Olivia Hicks, Emma Willis, Grant Fulbright, McKenzie Walker and Avery Underwood survive him. In addition to his parents; a brother, William Tony Bentley; and three sisters, Sara Fox, Monie Baldwin and Precious Ann Bentley preceded him in death. The funeral will be 4:00 pm Sunday, July 10th, 2016 at Meadow Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Arlie Roten and Pastor Dean Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Maiden. The family will receive friends from 2-3:30 Sunday July 10th, 2016 at the church.
