Daniel Frye

September 8, 1938 — April 20, 2023

Daniel Hal Frye, 84, of Hickory passed away Thursday, April 20th, 2023, at Atrium Health Lincoln. Born September 8th, 1938, he was the son of the late Hal Ray Frye and Vera Frye. Danny served in the Navy for four years and was a truck driver for over 60 years. He was an avid golfer and he enjoyed sports, especially basketball. He will be remembered for always having a positive humorous outlook in any situation. He will be truly missed by all his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Elaine Frye of Hickory; a daughter, Dayna Carney (Richard) of Ashburn VA; a son, Darren Frye of Hickory; the mother of his children, Mary Frye of Conover; two special nephews Bradley Harris of the home, and Todd Frye (Teresa) of Claremont; a brother, Lynn Frye (Linda) of Conover; two sisters, Trenia Monk (Harry) of Hickory; Karen Wilkerson (Hugh) of Hickory; a sister in law, Gail Harris of Hickory; two grandsons, Andrew Carney of Florida, and Noah Carney (Heather) of Florida; and a host of many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Evelyn Frye preceded him in death.

The memorial service will be 11AM, Saturday, May 13th, 2023, at Plateau United Methodist Church, located at 3315 Scronce Rd, Vale, NC 28168. A burial will be 11AM, Monday, May 15th, 2023, at Salisbury National Cemetery Annex, located at 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144.

Family receiving in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service with brunch served.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations go to Plateau United Methodist Church.

Jenkins Funeral Home staff are not involved in the memorial service at the church.
