Daniel Owens

Rev. Daniel Franklin Owens, 62 of Hickory died Friday, April 10th, 2015 at his residence. Born September 29th, 1952, he was the son of the late Wilbur Isaac Owens and Ruth Towery Owens. He pastored Welcome Home Baptist Church for many years and New Harvest Fellowship in Conover and sang with the Gospel Hymn Boys for over 30 years. He was a loving husband and father. His wife of 31 years, Rhonda Upton Owens of the home; two daughters, Melinda Ann Moore and husband Kenneth of Salisburyand Kimberly Dawn Chambers and husband Chris of Hickory; a son Steven Allen Bailey of the home; a sister, Sherry Date and husband Patrick of Shelby; four brothers, Dean Owens of Conover, Michael Owens and wife Brenda of Shelby, Gene Owens and wife Coralee of Shelby and Roger Owens and wife Katherine of Patterson Springs and nine grandchildren survive him. A brother, Carol Owens and a sister, Teresa Owens preceded him in death. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 13th, 2015 at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Johnny Owens and Pastor Billy Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm Monday, April 13th, 2015 at the church. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church 2738 S. Post Road, Shelby, NC 28152.
