Daniel Jefferson Settlemyre, 80, of Newton died Friday, April 10, 2020 at Brian Center East. Born Monday, April 8th, 1940 he was the son of the late Philip and Geanette Settlemyre. Daniel was an avid bowler and softball player in his younger days. He was a member of the Conover Lions Club for over 20 years. Daniel was well known for his wittiness and joking personality. He will be greatly missed by his family whom he loved very much!
His wife of 56 years Andris Settlemyre; two daughters Malinda Settlemyre Day (Danny) of Connelly Springs and Dana Johnson (Anthony) of Newton; a sister Jeanette Bost (Dale) of Little Switzerland; grandchildren Andrea Johnson (Loi Rathsamy), Felicia Johnson (TJ Ramseur), Laura Young (Blake), and Cory Day; and four great-grandchildren Hunter Reece, Clara Young, Adam Young, and Lorain Rathsamy survive him.
In addition to his parents he is proceeded in death by an infant son Daniel Jefferson Settlemyre Jr; a sister Gwendolyn Lackey; and two grandsons Jamie Hart and Philip Hart.
The family will have a Celebration of Life once the restrictions of COVID-19 are lifted.
