Darrell Bumgarner

Darrell Wayne Bumgarner, 63 of Conover died Wednesday, July 26th, 2017 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born January 29th, 1954 he was the son of the late J.D. Bumgarner and Pansy Bumgarner. Darrell enjoyed playing guitar, all types of mechanical projects, building trailers, and loved gardening.  In addition to his wife Ruth Lynette Stout Bumgarner; a daughter Angie Bumgarner of Saw Mills; three sons Troy Bumgarner of Spruce Pine, Brian Bumgarner of Plantation, FL, Wesley Bumgarner of Conover; two step sons Kevin Cole of Kings Mountain, Christopher Cole of Gamewell; three sisters Patty Pope of The Villages, FL, Darlene Dellinger and husband Ken of Conover, Jeannette Reese and husband Dwight of Hickory; two brothers Gary Bumgarner and wife Carla of Lenoir, Richard Bumgarner and wife Sharon of Conover; a special family friend Rene Lackey; five grandchildren Jessica Bumgarner, Trevor Bumgarner, Noah Bumgarner, Zoe Cole, Troy Bumgarner; and two great grandchildren Bristol Townsend, and Blane Townsend survive him. In addition to his parents; two brothers Randy Bumgarner and David Bumgarner preceded him in death.   A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 pm Saturday, July 29th, 2017 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. A private Graveside Service will be held at Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am -12:00 pm Saturday, July 29th, 2017 at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home .   In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
