David Miller

David Miller, 89, of Newton passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his home. Born Friday, January 29th, 1932 he was the son of the late Jacob Miller and Sarah Yoder Miller.

He is survived by two daughters Mary Miller of Newton, NC and Margaret Stout (Karl) of Newton, NC; three sons David Miller (Brenda) of Newton, NC, Marvin Miller (Patti) of Kamloops, BC Canada, and Kenny Miller (Karen) of Hickory, NC; three sisters Alma Troyer (Ezra) of Maine, Rhoda Miller (Dan) of Texas, and Amanda Schrock of Costa Rica; a brother Joseph Miller (Freda) of Ohio; eleven grandchildren Jason Miller, Shauna Gilbert, Jordan Miller, Janelle Williams, Stephanie Kelce, Erica Michener, Danae Bigelow, Sarah Miller, Amanda Hunt, Alyssa Stout, and Karalea Stout; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws Lizzie Miller and Sarah Miller; one brother-in-law Calvin Troyer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded him in death by his wife Esther Bontrager Miller; step-mother Nancy Miller; a daughter Sarah Miller; a daughter-in-law Yvonne Miller; five sisters Mary Troyer, Martha Miller, Miriam Heatwole, Elva Miller, and Ida Schrock; and three brothers Irvin Miller, Alvin Miller, and Elmer Miller; a sister-in-law Alice Miller; and four brother-in-laws Noah Schrock, Joseph Heatwole, Amos Miller, and Elmer Schrock.

The funeral will be 3:00 pm Saturday, April 24th, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Kimmet officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Mennonite Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm  Saturday, April 24th, 2021 at Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to 3:16 Christian Community Church or to Hospice and Palliative Care Catawba County.
