David Rodgers, 63, a resident of Hickory, North Carolina, passed away on December 1, 2017, at Catawba Regional Hospice. He was born on September 15, 1954, to Raymond and Margaret Rodgers in Red Bluff, California and grew up in Modesto, California. Dave graduated from Iowa State University in 1977 and later earned his Master’s degree in Accounting from Stanislaus State University. He worked in a variety of industries over the years to include agricultural journalism, public relations, farm/feed supply, public accounting, telecommunications, computer implementation/installation of accounting software programs, information technology, business systems integration, computer software development, and the poultry industry last working as Director of Research and Development for Case Farms in Troutman, North Carolina. Dave enjoyed photography, golf, hunting, fishing, travel and time spent with family and friends. Dave was diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer in August of 2016. He faced this challenge with his typical positive outlook, and his faith in God and love for Jesus Christ kept him strong throughout the battle. He is survived by his wife Sheree of 37 years; two sons, Micki of Charlotte, and Daniel and his wife Dawn of Beaverton, Oregon; and one granddaughter, Kenley Rodgers. He is also survived by his mother Margaret Rodgers of Hughson, California; older sister Mindi Lassman of Oakland, California; younger brother Peter and his wife Charlie Rodgers of Hughson, California; and three nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Rodgers and his sister Mary Rodgers Gonzalez. Dave was a loving father, husband and friend whose sense of humor, keen insight and wisdom, optimistic attitude and supportive encouragement will be greatly missed. A private service will be held on December 16, 2017
