David Butler Shook 84 of Newton died Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born October 8th, 1936 he was the son of the late Bertha Cline. An avid fisherman and gardener, he enjoyed working for various Race teams as his love was racing. He owned and operated Shook Body Shop for over 43 years. He loved his family especially his children and grandchildren. He was a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Lutheran Men at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He was a man with a Big heart.
His wife of 46 years, Judy Gale Shook of the home; two sons , Terry Shook and wife Teresa of Newton, Mark Shook and wife Donna of Newton; a daughter, Deanna Shook of Carolina Beach; a step son, Gannon Tolbert and wife Kim of Vale, NC; a step brother, Clyde Marshall Cline of Newton; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a great great grandson survive him.
A son, Richard Shook preceded him in death.
A Celebration of life will be held 2:00pm Sunday April 25th, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church 1686 6th Street SE Hickory, 28602 or to the Alzheimer's Association alz.org.
