David Tew

David Allen "Hawkeye" Tew 63 of Hickory died April 4, 2022 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born Monday, November 24th, 1958 he was the son of the late Billy Jim Tew and Betty Ann Page. David was a free spirit and was once a member of the Freedom Riders. He would help anyone in need. He loved his family and enjoyed playing cards.

A son, David Lee Tew and wife Monica of Lincolnton; three sisters, Debra Dunlap Johnny of Hickory, NC and Gloria Tew Smith of Stanardsville, VA and Pamela Atkins of Melbourne, FL ; a brother, Billy Joe Tew and wife Christy of Acton, CA survive him.

In addition to his parents, a brother, Warren Page preceded him in death.

Memorials may be made to South Mountain Children's Home.
