Dayton Lewis Street, 84, of Hickory passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Carolina Caring. Born March 17th, 1939, he was the son of the late Norman and Florence Street.
Dayton was a die hard Tennessee football fan and a season ticket holder for 50 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Marty Street of Hickory, his daughter Piper Burchell of Hickory, his son-in-law Chris Burchell of HIckory, his granddaughter Payton Wood (significant other Kent Fortner aka Huggie Bear) of Hickory, his sister Mary Alice Campbell (husband Wade) of Johnson City, TN, his brother Grayson Street (wife Shirley) of Roan Mountain, TN, and a number of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial is being planned for a later date in Tennessee, where the family requests that everyone wears orange and white.
The family would like to thank Catawba County EMS, Carolina Caring hospice, Catawba Valley Medical Center emergency room staff, and Dr. Michael DeSantis for all the kindness, help, and guidance they gave them.
